WAMUG Mailing List
One of the greatest benefits of being a WAMUG member is access to our members-only mailing list.
Whether you're looking for help with your Mac, iPhone or iPad, wanting advice before purchasing Apple equipment, or simply interested in discussing the latest Apple news, our mailing list is an active community of friendly Apple users who are always willing to help.
Many of our members have decades of Apple experience, making the mailing list an invaluable source of knowledge and support.
What can I use the mailing list for?
The mailing list is a place where members can:
Ask questions about Macs, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch and other Apple devices.
Receive help with macOS, iOS and Apple software.
Share Apple tips and useful discoveries.
Discuss the latest Apple news and announcements.
Recommend software, accessories and services.
Help other members solve problems.
If you've solved an unusual problem yourself, consider sharing the solution—you may help someone else in the future.
Who can join?
The WAMUG Mailing List is available exclusively to current WAMUG members.
While anyone can browse the public mailing list archive, only financial members can subscribe, post messages and receive emails from the list.
Subscribing to the Mailing List
Joining the mailing list is simple.
1. Visit the WAMUG Mailing List subscription page.
2. Enter your email address.
3. Optionally enter your name and choose a password.
4. Select whether you'd like to receive:
4a. Individual emails (recommended), or
4b. A Daily Digest containing all messages from that day.
5. Click Subscribe.
Your subscription request will be verified against your current WAMUG membership before being approved.
Once approved, you'll receive a welcome email explaining how to use the mailing list and manage your subscription.
Unsubscribing
If you no longer wish to receive mailing list emails:
1. Visit the Mailing List page.
2. Enter your subscribed email address.
3. Select Unsubscribe or Edit Options.
4. Log in and choose Unsubscribe.
You'll receive a confirmation email once the process has been completed.
Changing Your Email Address
Changed email address?
No problem.
Simply log in to your member options page and update your email address.
A confirmation email will be sent to your new address. Once confirmed, your subscription will automatically move to the new email address.
Changing Your Password
You can change your mailing list password at any time.
Simply log in to your member options page and select Change Password.
Forgotten Your Password?
It happens!
If you've forgotten your password:
1. Visit the Mailing List page.
2. Enter your email address.
3. Choose Remind.
Your current password will be emailed to you.
Individual Emails or Daily Digest?
You can choose how you receive messages.
Individual Emails
Receive every message as it is posted.
This option is recommended if you like to participate in discussions throughout the day.
Daily Digest
Receive a single email each day containing all messages posted during the previous 24 hours.
This option reduces the number of emails you receive while still keeping you informed.
Mailing List Guidelines
To keep the mailing list helpful and enjoyable for everyone, please observe these simple guidelines.
Before Posting
Search the archive to see if your question has already been answered.
Use a clear and descriptive subject line.
Include your Mac model and macOS version where relevant.
Explain what you've already tried.
Include any error messages exactly as they appear.
When Replying
Reply to the mailing list unless asked otherwise.
Quote only the relevant parts of previous messages.
Keep discussions friendly and respectful.
If you're unsure of an answer, simply say so.
Commercial Advertising
The mailing list is intended for member discussions.
Commercial advertising is not permitted unless authorised by WAMUG.

Looking for an older discussion?
Our public mailing list archive allows you to search years of Apple-related questions and answers.
Many common problems have already been solved, making the archive an excellent resource before posting a new question.
